Set in glamorous and iconic surroundings, Manchester’s stunning foodie destination Opus One will host a new singer-in-residence. Located at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester hotel, on the site of the former Free Trade Hall, Opus One will showcase the live musical talents of Lucy Hope, a self proclaimed chanteuse.

Born and raised in the local area, Lucy has always been passionate about singing, from the school chamber choir, fronting an indie band and performing in musical theatre. Lucy is no stranger to fine music; a professional vocalist, she has acquired a distinguished sound and vocal style, particularly influenced by soul and blues, chanson and cabaret. With a passion for the French language, Lucy completed a master's degree in French Literature at the University of Oxford. It is here when her love for all things French became much deeper.

After living in Bordeaux for one year, Lucy’s singing style became heavily influenced by French classics, including Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg and Edith Piaf. Her performance set at Opus One will be sprinkled with these timeless masterpieces as well as translations of English language classics such as Cry Me A River (Pleurer des rivières), Something Stupid (Ces Mots Stupides) and Fever (39 de fièvre).

Opus One is at the forefront of British fare in Manchester; bringing a modern twist to classic British dishes. Experience the decadent, bold flavours of Opus One’s, recently launched, spring menu. Opus One offers guests something a little different with its seasonal menu changes, something that is favoured by Head Chef Neil Armstrong, to accommodate the abundant seasonal and local produce, which is key to this restaurant’s menu offering.

Opus One’s live resident singer will perform three sets each week, from 6.30pm on Friday. For more information or to book a table visit www.radissonedwardian.com/manchester
