Executive sous chef from
Hilton Amsterdam, Franz Conde, was crowned the Hilton Worldwide Europe ‘Chef of
Champion’ at a final held at the McLaren Technology Centre.
Conde fought off
competition from two other finalists Durmus Sen from Hilton Istanbul,
and Sebastian Krebs from Hilton Basel.
Each chef had to produce a
menu suitable for F1 drivers taking into account drivers dietary requirements.
Conde's winning menu comprised “Finissima” of salmon-trout with dill sauce,
Short-braised fish with “salsiccia piccante”, artichokes and mint and dessert of
Zuppa Inglese leggera.
The Chef of Champions
culinary challenge is the latest initiative to come from the company’s European
Food and Beverage division and is thanks to the partnership with the Vodafone
McLaren Mercedes team - providing a unique opportunity for chefs to win the
chance to create a dish that will be served at the Italian Grand Prix in
September 2011.
