ROYAL SEAL.. Charles signs the City of Glasgow College visitors’ book in Scholars’ restaurant as Camilla and college staff look on.
Prince Charles and Camilla brought the college to a standstill as they met young students taking part in the Prince’s Trust’s Get into Cooking programme.
The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay spent time with the 16-25-year-olds and saw how the scheme is giving the youngsters the skills and experience needed to work in the hospitality sector.
The couple donned aprons and hats and joined students making canapes for the royal reception before being presented with a four-tier cake to mark theQueen’s coming Diamond Jubilee. Student Laura Dey said: "It’s great to be cooking for royalty in my first week here. I got to show Prince Charles how to make the desserts."
Heather Gray, director of the Prince’s Trust Scotland, said: "I’m delighted the royal couple saw the difference the Trust is making in Glasgow."
Get into Cooking has been delivered at the college since 2005 and over 235 young people have participated on the programme.
Principal Paul Little said: "Our relationship with the Trust is going from strength to strength."
