In recent years we have seen a surge in hospitality related TV shows - in particular a move from the "Saturday Kitchen" and "Ready Steady Cook" format to a more serious top-end programmes.
We now have programmes across other sectors such as The Hotel, The Hotel Inspector, The Great British Menu, The Great British Revival and most recently, the service programme with Michel Roux Jnr and Fred Sirieix.
If you are a fan of any of these shows why not check out a new blog called Satellite Dishes which takes are look at the programmes that are on our screens now. Why not keep up to date by checking out http://www.caterersearch.com/blogs/satellite-dishes/
We'd love to hear your thoughts on any of these programmes and whether you think it has a positive or negative on the industry as a whole. Are there any programmes that you would like to see on TV?
Ah yes - TV. Love it or hate it, it has a massive impact on the way Joe Public views things.
Is it helpful to have wannabe Hestons on telly? Do the fly-on-the-wall insights into the UK hotel industry damage British tourism?
Or is it all just easy viewing?
While the jury's out, would you mind shifting a bit? I can't see the goggle box.
Ta.
