You also have high staff turnover in this area so maintaining staff proficiency would be impossible.

I would like to offer a fifth option. It is to provide evacuation chairs within each room, reception maintain a record of guests that will need evacuation that can be given to first responders (this does not mean on a computer but written in a book). This list can then be handed to first responders so they can undertake the rescue directly. Guests would be required to either wait in their rooms or within refuges where they are provided.

The key benefit of this system is the reduced resources require by the emergency services to rescue each person with a disability, i.e. a 1:1 or even 2:1 ratio is only required as opposed to sat 4 with a backup of another 4 for change over every 3-4 floors. Here is a good post about resource allocation.

Social Networks are just the next step. I think businesses need to get into social networks simply because of what is coming next... If Google have their way we'll have free instant verbal and written translation services across all networks and communication channels around the world. Imagine communicating with someone in China and having a fluent network discussion with someone writing (or speaking) in Mandarin. If you’re not developing your networks now you'll miss out on the seismic jump in global hotel marketing that is about to take place...

I would argue it is the architect who did not think and specify the right product. And the builder will probably say I was doing what I was told.

Next to this shower is an accident waiting to happen as the rails have not been fitted properly with bolts through the wall. I have just returned to the same hotel and the repair has been done with the same screws that came out two weeks ago. So for the sake of four bolts the hotel could end up with a bill of thousands. It is just madness.
