Spaggo's bronze

Claude and Tammy Mariaux, who own Spaggo's restaurant, Yummies sandwich shop and Tummies Bistro in Slough, won the bronze award in BDO Stoy Hayward's Growing Family Business Awards for the Thames Valley.

The couple hope to expand the Spaggo's pizza and pasta brand once they have sold Tummies, which is up for sale.

Training success

For the second year running, Aramark has won a regional training award for the South-east in the National Training Awards. The award is for providing NVQ training to inmates at the prisons where it provides food services.

Top fish shop

Hutchinson's in Helston, Cornwall, has been named Fish and Chip Shop of the Year 1995, by the Sea Fish Industry Authority and the Potato Marketing Board.

Famous wins

Famous Moe's Pizza in Peacehaven, East Sussex, won the hotel and restaurant category of the 1995 NatWest Streamline Independent Retailer Excellence Awards.

Baxter's triumphs

Baxter & Platts gained ISO9002 accreditation for its contracts at the British Standards Institution's London head office and the headquarters of British American Tobacco in Woking, Surrey.
