Dolphin staff offered a new deal on pay

The Dolphin Square Trust, which runs the Dolphin Square complex of 165 hotel suites and more than 1,000 private flats in London, has submitted an improved pay offer to staff who belong to the Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU).

Union members, including cleaners, chambermaids, porters and maintenance staff, held two one-day strikes last month over pay. The dispute does not involve staff who work for Sodexho at the on-site Rhodes on the Square restaurant.

The trust is offering a 3.5% increase from 1 April 2002, rising to 4% from 1 October. Another 3.5% pay rise is proposed from 1 April 2003. The offer will be put to the 99 members of the TGWU among the property's 230 staff over the next few weeks.
