Lufthansa reheats profits

An overhaul of Lufthansa's in-flight catering business helped the German airline post results ahead of City expectations.

Lufthansa reported a half-year operating profit of €332m (£212m) on turnover of €8.2b (£5.2b).

Analysts had expected a profit figure between €180m and €278m (£115m to £178m).

Commentators put the improvement down partly to cost-cutting measures, including a revamp of LSG Sky Chefs, the in-flight catering business it took over in June last year.
