Essex-based property development company Turnstone Estates has won planning permission for a 120-bedroom budget hotel in Cambridge.

The £2.8m building, due to open in early 2003, will form part of a leisure complex planned near the city's rail station.

It will include a cinema, bowling alley and arts centre. There will also be an auction house and private housing.
