Edinburgh’s 21212 is Scotland’s restaurant of the year

by Janie Stamford, Monday 28th May 2012 18:28

Edinburgh's 21212 has been named restaurant of the year at the Catering in Scotland Excellence awards 2012.

Paul Kitching's Michelin-starred restaurant, which opened in 2009, saw off competition from Castle Terrace, also in Edinburgh, and Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond to take the title at an awards ceremony held at Hilton Glasgow last week.

Commenting on the award, Kitching said it was a real honour, particularly given the standard of the competition.

"I believe we offer diners a unique experience here at 21212. The flavours and range of ingredients we use in the restaurant enhance the whole dining experience for our guests and that is what it is all about for me," he added.

"We will continue to strive to succeed and hopefully have another very successful year."
