Devizes-based pub company and brewer Wadworth has launched a one-off beer to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The brewer is producing just 1,200 bottles of the 6% ABV Queen's Jubilee Ale. It will be available for sale immediately at £3 a bottle in the company's managed houses, or bottles will be available to take home from the Visitor Centre in Devizes.
Wadworth said the beer is pale amber in colour, with a full, biscuity body. In keeping with the event the beer celebrates, Wadworth has primarily used Sovereign hops, adding a bitterness to offset a late addition of Saphir hops which give the beer a complex spice and fruit aroma.
"Wadworth produced a beer for the Queen's Coronation and previous Jubilees so it is only right that we produce something unique yet traditional, much like Her Majesty, to toast this wonderful event," said Charles Bartholomew, chairman of Wadworth Brewery.
"Our publicans will be encouraging customers to buy a bottle of the ale and raise their glass to The Queen. Cheers Your Majesty - and congratulations from Wadworth and all its loyal customers!"
