Georges Tabet, chef manager at Westminster Abbey Choir School, dies

Georges Tabet, the chef manager at Westminster Abbey Choir School, has died unexpectedly.

Tabet, known as "King George" by the students, had held the role for the past 20 years before joining independent education caterer Brookwood Partnership last August when the company took over the contract.

The company said he quickly embraced the Brookwood style and was proud to be a part of the team. Close to retirement, Tabet had planned to marry next year when "he had the time".

Sue Parfett, managing partner at Brookwood, said: "We were very saddened to hear this unexpected news and all of our thoughts are with Georges's family, the catering team, pupils and teaching staff at Westminster."
