Michelin-starred North Road closes

by Kerstin Kühn, Tuesday 4th December 2012 14:33

North Road, the Michelin-starred restaurant in east London, has closed.

The restaurant in Clerkenwell has entered voluntary liquidation and has called in accountants Macintyre Hudson.

A spokesman for the company confirmed: “North Road restaurant entered voluntary liquidation yesterday. Macintyre Hudson has been appointed as liquidators.”

The move comes just three months after Christoffer Hruskova, former chef and co-owner of North Road, left the restaurant following a fall out with his partners.

Danish-born Hruskova opened North Road in November 2010 and his Nordic-inspired cuisine gained a Michelin star in 2011. Following his departure he was replaced in the kitchen by Italian head chef Rafael Cagali.

Spread over two floors, North Road includes a 66-seat main dining room as well as a 10-seat bar and a chef's table for up to eight diners and a 20-seat private dining room on the first floor.
