Brownsword Hotels announce new management team at Lower Slaughter Manor

Lower Slaughter Manor, the former Von Essen property in Gloucestershire now owned by Brownsword Hotels, has announced three new senior appointments.

Abbi Hardiman has joined the three-red-AA-star, 19-bedroom hotel as general manager from operations manager at Chewton Glen, while Jamie Raffery has been appointed executive chef having recently left the Castle hotel in Taunton, where he was head chef. Meanwhile, Matthew Balman has moved from his position as assistant restaurant manager at the Nare hotel in Veryan-in-Roseland, Cornwall to become restaurant manager at Lower Slaughter Manor.

Nick Halliday, chief executive at Brownsword Hotels, said he is delighted to have such an experienced team on board.  “Their hard work and vision will play a huge part in continuing to create a memorable experience at Lower Slaughter Manor, bringing the hotel back to the very forefront.”

The 17th century Lower Slaughter Manor was acquired by Brownsword Hotels following the administration of Von Essen, along with three other properties, in October 2011 to join a portfolio of hotels which include Gidleigh Park and the Bath Priory.
