Fat Duck chefs in Hong Kong accident were attending private event

The two Fat Duck chefs killed in a car accident in Hong Kong were visiting the island for a private event, it has emerged.

Initially there were some reports that the purpose of the trip was to open a new restaurant.

A spokesperson for the Fat Duck also confirmed the names of the pair as Jorge Ivan Arango Herrera, known as Jorge, and Carl Magnus Lindgren, known as Magnus.

Herrera and Lindgren were killed in a road traffic accident at 11.40am local time on Monday 19 November.
