MasterChef Ash Mair eyes up Cucina's school meals

by Janie Stamford, Monday 2nd July 2012 17:54

Ash Mair, who won the last series of MasterChef: the Professionals, has a new appetite for school meals following a meeting with Cucina Restaurants.

The school caterer welcomed Mair to its kitchen at the Harefield Academy to meet its team of executive chefs and tour the kitchen and food theatre last week, before having lunch in the Academy restaurant.

Commenting on his visit, Mair said: "It was very interesting to see what Cucina has achieved. Very professional, well thought-through and well-planned concepts. I would be interested in getting more involved."

Cucina managing director Steve Quinn said he was in awe of the chef's achievements on the BBC cookery competition and welcomed the chance to discuss ways in which Mair might work with his team.
