Elior to continue with initiative to offer work to long-term unemployed

Contract caterer Elior has announced plans to roll out an initiative aimed at getting long-term unemployed people back into work following a successful pilot in Scotland.

Working in partnership with recruitment firm Ingeus, Elior trained 10 new recruits as front-of-house staff to work in its Tesco café site in Galashiels.

The caterer now plans to roll the scheme out to other sites in the area.

Arran McDowell, HR director, Elior UK, said: "Ingeus has helped us find 10 committed and loyal employees for our Tesco site in Galashiels. The quality of candidates has been outstanding - so much so, that we're committed to working with Ingeus to fill future vacancies.

"We're delighted to have helped 10 people get back into work and hope that over the next year we can assist many more."
