McCain Gastro Chips take top prize at BFFF Awards 2012

Food service supplier McCain Foods is celebrating today after its McCain Gastro Chips were named as the Catering Product of the Year at the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) annual catering awards 2012.

McCain Gastro Chips also won the gold award for the Best New Accompaniment/Potato/Vegetable Product, with McCain Sweet Potato Fries taking silver in the same category.

Speaking following the presentation of the award, Mike Driver, head of marketing for McCain Foods, said: "The BFFF Awards celebrate the very best in frozen food, so we are delighted that McCain Gastro Chips have been recognised with the top prize.

"Listening to our customers is crucial to our business and a huge amount of work went into the trial and development of Gastro Chips to ensure we were giving chefs and their customers exactly what they want. This award, added to the wealth of positive feedback we've had since launch, hopefully indicates that we are managing to do just that."

The Gastro Chip was launched earlier this year in response to strong demand for a consistently great tasting, premium chip that is quick and convenient to prepare and helps to reduce waste and preparation time.
