Was a career in hospitality the right choice and would you recommend it? We want your views

Do you think you made the right choice by going into the hospitality industry?

Do you feel that you have carved out a successful and enjoyable career - whether it is in hotels, restaurants, pubs or contract catering? Or do you wish you had gone for something different? And would you recommend your industry to the younger generation or ward them off it?

Caterer and Hotelkeeper would like your answers to these and other questions in our online survey, ahead of a major new editorial campaign, in partnership with vocational training provider Lifetime, hospitality recruitment specialist Caterer.com, and supported by Springboard, in which we plan to celebrate an industry which we feel often doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

And crucially, we want to send out the message to young people who may have been discouraged from entering a hospitality profession to think again.

From talking to industry professionals on a daily basis, the vast majority of whom love what they do, we believe hospitality offers a great career path, can help kick-start the UK economy, and give valuable work opportunities to some of the one million unemployed young people in this country.

But we want to know what you, the industry, thinks.

To that end, we would really appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes of your day to answer this anonymous survey on your attitudes to the sector in which you work.

We hope to share the results of this survey with you when the campaign kicks off in July.
