Birds Eye fish fingers awarded the sustainable fishing certificate from MSC

The entire fish finger range from Birds Eye Foodservice has been awarded the sustainable fishing certificate from the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

Gulam Uddin, business unit controller for Birds Eye Foodservice, explained: "The move is part of our company-wide sustainability plan, Forever Food, which aims to certify 100% of our fish range to help protect global fish stocks."

The MSC certification means the fishery where the fish was caught has demonstrated that it is well managed and sustainable, through a comprehensive, independent scientific assessment.

Birds Eye Foodservice supplies Omega 3 Alaskan pollock, salmon, cod and chunky fish fingers to pubs, restaurants, schools, universities and contract caterers.
