Water filtration specialist Brita Professional has raised £4,687 for industry charity Hospitality Action through a filter amnesty that has also helped improve the quality of the food and drink served by participating outlets.
Brita donated £1 to Hospitality Action for each Traditional AquaQuell filter and AquaQuell Purity replacement cartridge ordered in November.
Brita sales director Anthony Spruce said the group’s customers had also benefited from the drive to encourage them to exchange their old water filters.
“An ineffective filter can negatively affect the taste, aroma and appearance of food and drink, not to mention damage machinery such as coffee machines, combi ovens and vending machines,” he said. “All these factors can have a serious impact on profitability so it pays to have a fully functioning water filter.”
Spruce added that the filter pledge was ‘just the first part of our ongoing support for Hospitality Action and we hope to be fully involved in future fundraising’.
