The deadline for the Women 1st Shine Awards, which aims to honour the achievements of women in hospitality, travel and tourism, has been extended by a week.
Nominations for the awards can now be made up to 11 May on People 1st's website.
Women 1st has also extended the deadline for nominations to join its Top 100 Club to 11 May.
The Women 1st Top 100 Club is a 'who's who' of influential women in hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism, members of which include Delia Smith, Angela Hartnett, Sandie Dawes and Jill Stein. Nominations can be made at www.people1st.co.uk/top100club.
Robyn Jones OBE, chief executive of catering firm CH&Co, member of the Women 1st Top 100 Club and winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at last year's Women 1st Shine Awards said: "It was not only a huge surprise, but a great honour to be recognised amongst so many of the industry's worthy and amazing ladies. I would recommend those thinking of nominating to go for it - you never know!"
Sharon Glancy, founder of Women 1st, said: "We have been absolutely thrilled with the response to this year's awards, with over 140 nominations received so far. With the upcoming bank holiday and Jubilee celebrations, this is an incredibly busy period for our industry and we have been inundated with requests to extend the deadline to allow people to get their entries in.
"We hope that this will give even more women an opportunity to get involved, and can't wait to announce the results, including the new members of our Top 100 Club, at our awards dinner on 19 June."
Shine Awards entries can be submitted for the following categories:
* Woman of the Year
* Lifetime Achievement
* Mentor of the Year (male and female nominees accepted)
* Outstanding Entrepreneur
* Rising Star
* Small Business
* Large Business
Nominations can be made at www.people1st.co.uk/shineawards.
The award winners and new members of the Top 100 Club will be announced at a gala dinner, hosted by television and radio presenter, Emma Forbes, on 19 June 2012 at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel, Knightsbridge.
