Herts farm shop opens 180-seat café

Tuesday 1st May 2012 17:27

A new café has opened at Pearce's Farm Shop near Puckeridge in Hertfordshire, as the business bids to capitalise on the burgeoning eating out market.

The site sits 90 inside and a further 90 outside on the terrace and is staffed by eight full-time workers including chefs Dan Brinklow and Andrew Flatts, a pastry chef and a sous chef.

A daily specials menu offers meals from £7.95 and desserts from £3.95.

The café also has a large kitchen which the Pearce family, which owns the business, hopes will also eventually supply the shop with pastries, cakes and prepared dishes.

The shop and café business is run by David Pearce and his son Ed, while the adjoining farm is run by David's brother Andrew.
