Pub group Draft House secures fifth site

London-based pub group the Draft House, owned by Charlie McVeigh, has secured a fifth site, this time in Fitzrovia.

The former Northumberland Arms at 43 Goodge Street W1, which has been a pub since the early 1800s, is scheduled to reopen as a Draft House in July.

McVeigh said: "We have been working on this site since June of last year so there was some relief when we nailed it before the anniversary. At times the negotiations felt like the making of Apocalypse Now but we're in now and very excited. There's going to be a bigger emphasis on cask ale with beers from all our buddies at Camden, Kernel, Windsor & Eton and Sambrook's - this tiny site will be a pocket-sized expression of London's exploding beer and food culture."
