Video: Red Carnation MD named Hotelier of the Year at Hotel Cateys

The winners of the Hotel Cateys were announced this evening at a glittering dinner attended by 600 industry guests at the Lancaster London hotel.

Heading the celebrations was Jonathan Raggett, managing director of Red Carnation Hotels, who was announced 2009 Hotelier of the Year, sponsored by Casna Group.

Simon Young, executive chef at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel, scooped the top chef award for hotel chef of the year (more than 250 covers), while Kenny Atkinson, executive chef at Seaham Hall Hotel and Serenity Spa took the hotel chef of the year (fewer than 250 covers).

The Outstanding Contribution Award went to Willy Bauer, chairman of AB Hotels.

An award ceremony presented by comedian Jason Manford, star of BBC 1’s Live at the Apollo, honoured the 14 leading hotel personalities and teams who have achieved excellence in their place of work.
