Eastbourne hotel becomes third Big Sleep

The Wish Tower hotel in Eastbourne, East Sussex, has become the UK’s third Big Sleep hotel under new owners hotelier Cosmo Fry (a member of the Fry’s chocolate family) and film star John Malkovitch.

The seafront hotel on King’s Edward Parade sits on a corner of Wilmington Square opposite the town’s famous Martello Tower on the foreshore. It is well-placed for the Devonshire Park Congress Theatres and within easy walking distance of the town
centre.

Formed from three seafront Victorian buildings, the Wish Tower offered  51 en-suite bedrooms and number of public spaces that included a 100-seat dining room, a meeting/games room that could accommodate 60 delegates theatre-style, two lounges
(one with a café ) and Oscars Bar.
 
It has now been converted into a design-led budget hotel after a makeover that involved gutting the hotel to its original structural form.

The Eastbourne Big Sleep offers 50 budget-style rooms that include singles, doubles, twins, group, family, suites and dedicated disabled access rooms. Prices start from £45 a month.
 
It joins the existing Big Sleeps in Cardiff and Cheltenham.

The Reading office of Colliers Robert Barry was seeking offers in the region of £1.7m for the freehold on the property
