An 18th century country inn on the famous Speyside Whisky Trail has been put on the market.

The Croft Inn is within the Glenlivet Estate at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains in the Scottish Highlands, near 50 whisky distilleries.

It has built up a reputation for its range of more than 55 malt whiskies, its real ales and its home-made food.

The property was built in 1770 as alms houses and was used for crofting until its conversion into an inn 30 years ago.

Along with a traditional bar, the Croft Inn offers a 20-seat conservatory restaurant and three-bedroom owners’ accommodation.

The Edinburgh office of Christie + Co is seeking offers in excess of £250,000 for the freehold.
