Lincolnshire publicans Lloyd and Julia Kenny have bought the Cluny Bank hotel in Forres, Morayshire.

The former Victorian mansion house was converted into a hotel in 1999 and it now holds a four-star tourist board rating and has won awards for its service and quality accommodation.

It sits on the A96 – the main road between Aberdeen and Inverness –near Findhorn and Kinloss. It occupies a prominent position beside Cluny Hill and is near both the town centre and the golf course.

Along with 10 en-suite bedrooms, Cluny Bank has a Laurel and Hardy-themed lounge bar and a 30-seat restaurant which Lloyd, a chef, plans to promote to residents and to the general public.

The owners’ accommodation consists of a double bedroom with outside patio, a bathroom and a large lounge.

The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry was inviting offers in excess of £575,000 for the property on behalf of Rene Looper and Pamela Van Ankeren.
