In a bid to combat "roast rage" the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) has launched a 24-hour helpline for home chefs.
EBLEX is keen to combat kitchen burn out for those left to prepare festive feats on their own, and has recruited a team of professional chefs to offer support.
The move comes after research by the organisation found cooking a Christmas meal for family and friends was a major cause of stress during the festive period.
EBLEX's survey found 87% of designated chefs did not receive any help preparing the meal, while 69% felt they missed out on spending time with friends and families.
The help line is open from the 19 December to 1 January and calls are charged at national rate. Call 01494 672 553.
