Millennium Hotels and Resorts has issued letters to all members of staff at its five London hotels warning of potential forced cutbacks in working hours or redundancies.
Morten Ebbesen, general manager of the four-star, de luxe Millennium hotel in Grosvenor Square, confirmed that letters advising staff that their weeks could be cut from five to four days had been issued.
Ebbesen said the company's decision to consider cutbacks was due to the difficult trading environment caused by the war and the run-up to it.
"Occupancy is not brilliant," he said, adding that the cutbacks would not affect the Grosvenor Square property.
