Sodexho links up with Army to open local pub
Sodexho Defence Services and the Army have joined forces to open a local pub in Bovington, Dorset. Previously, the 2,700 people living in and around the village and army employees at Bovington Garrison had to travel up to four miles to reach the nearest pub. The new pub has space for about 200 in the bar area and includes a 60-seat restaurant.
Levy Restaurants signs with Man United
Manchester United has signed up US-based stadium caterer Levy Restaurants as a consultant at its Old Trafford ground. Levy will help the football club introduce new food and drink offerings. Its managers and chefs will work with in-house team Manchester United Catering to introduce new concepts and service techniques at the ground’s kiosks, suites and restaurants. Levy is part of the Compass Group.
Vacherin opens for business
Vacherin, the contractor set up by former Directors Table managing director Mark Philpot and Catering & Allied finance director Clive Heatherington, opened for business yesterday. The new company will focus on providing staff catering and directors’ dining in central London.
Charlton House lines up award nominations
Reading-based Charlton House has been nominated for two awards and been recognised as one of the fastest-growing private businesses in the region. The contractor has been shortlisted for the Lloyds TSB Outstanding Management award, while chief executive Robyn Jones is a finalist in the 2002 Institute of Directors’ Berkshire Entrepreneurial Director award. Charlton House was also listed in 20th position in accountant Deloitte & Touche’s list of the 40 fastest-growing companies in the Thames Valley.
