JIM BISHOP is the new acquisitions manager at pub company Scottish & Newcastle Retail. Dedicated to increasing the number of its Chef & Brewer pub-restaurants, he joins from Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises, where he was acquisitions manager.

CHRISTOPHER SHARP has been appointed general manager at the La Frégate hotel in Guernsey. He was previously a member of the senior management team at the Lowry hotel in Manchester.

IAIN DEWAR has taken over as business development director for Scotland and Northern Ireland at contract caterer Eurest. He was director of sales at Alba Catering.

PAUL FITZGERALD has been appointed general manager of the Holiday Inn London Hampstead. He was food and beverage manager at the Strand Palace hotel in London. ANDREAS STUMM and JOE MACKEN have also joined the Holiday Inn London Hampstead. Stumm, the new head chef of its Junction restaurant, was head chef of a hotel in London named 41, while Macken, former Christmas sales manager at the Strand Palace hotel in London, is its new catering manager.

CRISTINA ANGHELESCU has joined Storrs Hall hotel in Windermere, Cumbria, as sous chef. She previously worked in California, where she was chef de cuisine of the Cordon Bleu California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena.

CLIVE EPLETT has been appointed to the board of restaurant group Fish! as a non-executive director. He was previously joint managing director of SFI Group.

ANGELIKA KANDUTH has moved within Six Continents Hotels to become manager of the customer service centre at the company's Middle East central reservations office in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. She was manager of its customer service centre for the Middle East and Africa.

AUDREY STEFFAN has joined the Cadogan hotel in Sloane Street, London, as reception manager. She was at the Athenaeum in Piccadilly, London, where she was also reception manager.

CHRIS WARD has become group marketing manager at Wren's hotel group. He joins from Orient-Express hotels, where he was marketing manager.

VEENA LIDBETTER, general manager of Expotel's events and incentive travel department, has been appointed to the company's board of directors, as has BILL STEVENSON, who runs the marketing department. Expotel is a hotel reservations agency.

LOUISE RATTRAY has joined Gleneagles hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire, as regional sales manager for Scotland and the North of England. She was previously assistant director of sales at the Hilton Glasgow hotel.

ISMAIL HASSAN has been appointed by Six Continents Hotels to become general manager of the Holiday Inn Bur Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. He was previously general manager of the Holiday Inn Amman in Jordan.
