Cater Plus Services has been bought by a team led by two ex-Sodexho directors.

Jim Lovett, previously operations director at Sodexho Healthcare and Vince Pearson, who was a UK board director at the French catering giant, have become managing director and chairman, respectively.

The pair were joined in a management buyout by Cater Plus directors Ian Clementson, Tony Barrett, David Pollak and Gary Palmer.

Pearson said: “I’ve been involved in contract catering for over 20 years and in that time I have not come across a company as focused and committed to its clients as Cater Plus.”

Cater Plus, established in 1991, supplies catering, procurement, housekeeping and training to care homes, shelters and schools across South England.

The £12m turnover firm has nearly 500 staff based at 70 locations.

The deal was structured and led by Andy Miller of McInnes Corporate Finance and funding was provided by YFM and Yorkshire Bank.
