SANDRA CALDWELL was delighted to receive the AA award for the Best Bed and Breakfast in Scotland.

The guesthouse, which can accommodate six people, serves what Caldwell describes as "one of the best breakfasts in Scotland".

Her guests are usually visiting "with a purpose", she says. "We don't get many tourists - they usually go to the East coast, but people come here as they're visiting friends and relatives or attending a wedding. We'll be very busy next July as the golf open championships will be held here."

Top of Caldwell's cleaning product shopping list is Mr Muscle oven cleaner, 504, which she finds most efficient.

"In the old days you'd have to use a lot of elbow grease to clean the oven, but with this product it's really easy," she says.

She also likes Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner, 505 because it's so versatile as it can be used to clean the bath, tiles and all bathroom surfaces.

"We're really lucky as this area isn't susceptible to either limescale or mould," she explains.

For cleaning the toilets, Caldwell prefers Domestos, 506 which she finds effective.

To keep wooden furniture shiny and pristine, Caldwell likes Guardsman polish, 507and uses Guardsman soap, 508, to clean dirty marks off furniture.

Windows are kept sparkling clean by a combination of Windolene, 509 and by washing them with water and vinegar, using a scrunched-up newspaper.

"People say it's an old wives' tale," laughs Caldwell, "but I actually find it very effective - but I also use Windolene."

Carpets are kept clean using a Dyson vacuum cleaner, 510.

For the dishwasher, Caldwell likes Finish dishwashing powder, 511 and for washing towels and sheets, she uses Persil, 512 and Comfort fabric conditioner, 513.
