London Clubs implement group systems
LONDON Clubs Management has decided to complete a full implementation of point of sale and food and beverage control systems supplied by XI-Data Systems, following trials across the group of casinos in central London.
The sites are the Ritz Club, Les Ambassadeurs Club, the Rendezvous Club, the Palm Beach Club, the Sportsman Club and the Golden Nugget Club, as well as head office.
Each club will run a local area network providing EPoS terminals and F&B control workstations. Each site will be able to access, via a wide area network, the group F&B system held on a centralised database at head office. A key objective is purchasing control and stock management at both club and group level.
The system is complicated by the number of interfaces required across the wide area token ring network. The software will give access from the EPoS terminal to the centralised membership system, running on an IBM AS400 mid-range computer. Further links are provided to the accounts software, running on DEC VAX hardware, enabling all the appropriate information to be fed directly to the relevant ledgers.
London Clubs project controller Colin Wright commented: "The professional attitude adopted by four major international software houses in specifying, writing, testing and installing the interfaces has been crucial to the implementation."
