Three new players after reshuffle

Thursday 6th January 1994 00:00

EQUIPMENT importer Carron Strands has restructured in a bid to improve service response times and efficiency in spares handling.

The reshuffle will result in the emergence of three new players in the equipment supply market and Carron Strands will cease to exist.

The new companies are: Meiko UK, a direct subsidiary of German Meiko, headed up by Bill Downie, former managing director of Carron Strands; Mareno UK set up by Mareno Spa of Italy with Trevor Burke, former Carron Strands national sales manager as managing director; and a new organisation yet to be defined, set up by Franke of Switzerland to supply and service the Franke food service products, with David Miles, former Carron Strands sales manager, at the helm.

The servicing and warranty of Elro products will be undertaken by Meiko UK.
