The Bench: North-eastern hotel performance in December 2005

Hotels in the North East of England saw revenue per available room (revpar) plummet by 11.2% during the month of December.

Revpar dropped to £38.45, down from £43.28 during December 2004, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench.

Occupancy decreased by 4.1 percentage points to 62.7%. Average room rate fell by 5.3% to £61.35, down from £64.81 in December 2004.
