Richard Jones has joined the Macdonald Park House hotel at Shifnal, Shropshire, as operations manager. He was house manager at the Savoy hotel in Blackpool, Lancashire.

The Chartridge Conference Company has made three appointments at its Chilton, Buckinghamshire, site: Kishore Seegoolam has been appointed general manager of the centre. He was director of operations for Dolce Norton Manor conference and training centre near Winchester, Hampshire. Jocelyn Goldberg has joined as front of house manager and was general manager at the George hotel in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. Gavin Saville has taken on the role of conference sales co-ordinator and worked as a receptionist at the Cotswold Gateway hotel at Burford, Oxfordshire.

Moat House Hotels has appointed Ian Thomas head of sales and accounts, based at its head office in Romford, Essex. He was senior customer manager for Kraft Foods Europe.

The Vale Hotel, Golf & Country Club in Hensol, Vale of Glamorgan, has made three managerial appointments in the run-up to the June opening of its second championship-standard course, the Wales National. Michelle Hill has joined as financial controller. She was financial controller for the south coast at Marriott Hotels. Mark Crabbe has joined as restaurant manager and held the same title at Le Monde, Cardiff. Adele Tibbott has joined the hotel as sales manager. She was sales co-ordinator at the Cardiff Marriott hotel.

Gill Fee has taken on the newly created role of sales manager at sister properties, the Elvetham and the Petersham hotels, located in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire, and Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, respectively. She was business development manager at the Hayley Conference Centre at Wotton House near Dorking, Surrey.

Bruno Asselin has joined Pharmacy restaurant in Notting Hill Gate, London, as restaurant manager and head sommelier. He was head sommelier at Pied a Terre, London.

Nikki Martin has joined the Bailiffscourt hotel in Climping, West Sussex, as spa manager ahead of the spa's May opening. Martin was spa manager at Runnymede Hotel & Spa in Egham, Surrey.

Hugh Taylor, vice-president of marketing for Hilton UK & Ireland, has been selected by Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell to fill the part-time role of non-executive chairman on the England Marketing Advisory Board. The board will support VisitBritain, the relaunched national tourist board website, which promotes English tourism to the British.

The Mersey Partnership Board of Management has appointed Neil Pakey, managing director of Liverpool John Lennon Airport, as its new chair. He succeeds Rod Hill, who was chair of the board from 1999 until his retirement in August 2002.

Pub group Innspired has appointed Jim Lepke business development manager, based in Crewe, Cheshire. He was a national recruitment and training manager at the Mystery Shopping Company in Manchester.

Hospitality software company Visual One Systems has appointed Martin Sheppard technical support manager at its Leatherhead, Surrey, offices. He was technical sales executive at SoftBrands Hospitality in Woking, Surrey.

Sarah Ellis will join Compass Group as director of investor relations, based at its Chertsey, Surrey, headquarters with effect from July. She was director of European hotel and leisure equity research at bankers ABN Amro in London.

Glynn Mason has been appointed leisure manager at the Vital Leisure Club in the Macdonald Kilhey Court hotel near Wigan, Lancashire. He was a health and fitness manager with Moat House Hotels for the Wigan and Bolton area.

Calum Ross has been promoted to managing director of UBF Foodsolutions based in Crawley, West Sussex. He was business development director with the company.
