STEPHEN HORNSBY is the new general manager of the Hilton Manchester Airport. He was general manager at the Watford Hilton.

ALAN MacLAURIN is now general manager of the Stakis Dunblane hotel. He was general manager of the Stakis Coylumbridge.

MARGARET KAVANAGH has joined the Academy Town House hotel in London's Bloomsbury as general manager. She was previously events manager of Hub Events in Edinburgh.

MARK ROBINSON is the new assistant manager at the Moor Farm Brewers Fayre and Travel Inn in Cramlington, Northumberland. Nineteen-year-old Robinson was promoted from house supervisor at the pub/hotel.

HELEN PEUTHERER and SANDRA DARNELL have been given new jobs at the Edinburgh Posthouse hotel. Peutherer has been promoted from team manager housekeeping to manager of the conference and training centre. Darnell is the new front office manager. She joined the Posthouse from Crieff Hydro, where she was front of house operations manager.

NICK LOGUE has taken over as general manager of the Selsdon Park Hotel & Golf Course in Croydon. He was general manager of the Cheltenham Park Hotel.

ROB JAMES is the new franchise development manager for Wimpy and LES HUNT is the burger chain's new district manager for Wales and the Midlands. James was store development manager for Booker Wholesale Foods and Hunt was national accounts manager for Mono Equipment.

PAUL WILKES is Gardner Merchant's new operations director for the Wales and Central division, and JOY DOODY is district manager for Worcester and Birmingham. Wilkes was operations director with Sodexho South Africa and Doody worked for ABM Catering. Both positions are new posts.

DYLAN REARDON SMITH is the new restaurant manager at Woods Brasserie in Cardiff. He was restaurant manager at St David's Hotel and Spa in Cardiff.

IAIN AINSWORTH will take over as regional director for the UK and Scandinavia at Concorde Hotels in February 2000. He will replace RUSSELL BREWERTON, who is to open a seven-bedroom guesthouse in Stratford-upon-Avon.

PATRICIA HARRISON has been appointed general manager of Portsmouth's Hilton National hotel. She was deputy general manager at the Stakis in Nottingham.

PETER SMITH has taken over as operations director for Shaw Catering Company. He was regional managing director for the East Midlands for Compass Group subsidiary Eurest.

STEVE PETERSON has been appointed corporate executive chef for Westin hotels and resorts. He was executive chef of the Westin Century Plaza Hotel & Tower in Los Angeles.

JASON FOX has been appointed human resources manager with Thistle Hotel Brighton. He was HR manager for Weetwood Hall Conference Centre and Hotel in Leeds.
