Richard Hamblin appointed operations manager of three Bristol restaurants

Bristol's Glassboat, Spyglass and Lido restaurants have appointed Richard Hamblin as operations manager.

Hamblin joins the group from London restaurant the Boundary, where he was restaurants manager. Prior to this he worked, at D&D London's restaurant and at Sydney's Rockpool Group in Australia.

Hamblin's first task is the relaunch of the Spyglass restaurant, which is scheduled to reopen on 29 March following an extensive refurbishment, including the installation of an open grill and fireplace, and a bar offering counter-top dining.

Group executive chef Freddy Bird has designed new menus at the restaurant including speciality barbecue dishes featuring meat, fish and shellfish. Hamblin has put together an accessible wine list to accompany the food, and there will also be English beers from Bath Ales and the Freedom brewery, plus pitchers of cocktails.

Making the most of its waterfront setting and large, alfresco terrace, Spyglass is only open for the summer months.
