Travel concession operator SSP has opened a new bar and a Camden Food Co at Leeds Bradford International Airport.
The Saltaire bar, named after the nearby town and world heritage site known for its architecture, food and award-winning beers, will celebrate regional produce and beer.
It will serve cask-conditioned ales from two North Yorkshire Breweries - Theakston and Black Sheep - as well as from the Saltaire brewery. It will also offer spirits and an extensive list of wines, served by experts in wine and trained baristas.
The menu will continue the local theme, featuring a selection of traditional favourites "balanced with modern flavours from around the world".
The Camden Food Co the first to open in a UK airport, will focus on providing grab-and-go food, with an emphasis on Yorkshire produce such as Wensleydale cheese, Yorkshire crisps and rhubarb crumble made with plants from the "Rhubarb Triangle": an area between Rothwell, Morley and Wakefield that has European protected status.
SSP UK local site marketing manager Jacqueline Smith believes the bar and eatery will do much to enhance the customer experience at Leeds Bradford. She added: "Our aim with the Saltaire and Camden Food Co is to offer choices that are ideally suited to the needs of the customer at Leeds Bradford.
"These two outlets offer something of the unique culinary heritage of Yorkshire with the high standards expected by global travellers at an important international airport."
The two new outlets have been designed as part of an £11m investment programme to improve facilities at the airport, and the opening of the restaurants will create 20 new jobs at the airport.
