A former employee who attempted to petrol bomb a Dublin Chinese restaurant has been remanded in custody pending a psychiatric report.
Frances Flanagan, 23, entered the restaurant on 14 December 1997 with a bottle filled with petrol and tried to light the fuse.
The owner, Morris Wong, prevented Flanagan from igniting the petrol, but she returned four days later to his Uncle Bs restaurant on Lower Dorset Street and tried to set fire to his car.
Flanagan told arresting police officers that Wong owed her wages and had sexually abused her while she was working for him.
The court was told that Flanagan, who pleaded guilty, had been a patient in a psychiatric hospital in the past. Her counsel said she had a genuine psychiatric problem. She will appear for sentencing on 23 April.
