Tiger, Tiger owner boosts Christmas sales by 10.6%

by Neil Gerrard, Monday 11th January 2010 11:24

Novus Leisure, which operates the Tiger Tiger bar chain, saw a 10.6% increase in trade over the Christmas period.

In a trading update today, the group said that three quarters of its turnover in the six weeks to 2 January was from advance bookings for private and corporate parties. Internet bookings from its latenightlondon.co.uk and tigertiger.co.uk sites were up 41%.

Like-for-like sales at Tiger Tiger rose more than 11%, with food accounting for 38% of revenue.

Novus chief executive Steve Richards said: “The period growth figures are in line with what we’ve been experiencing since the summer but we are particularly pleased by the resilience of trading for the three weeks of Christmas and New Year, where like for like sales were up 15.5% despite the heavy snow falls which severely affected London and the South East”.
