Broadland Farms Fresh Turkey has pledged its support to encouraging young culinary talent by sponsoring this year’s Wessex Salon Culinaire, one of the UK’s largest live culinary competitions run by the Craft Guild of Chefs.
The Craft Guild’s popular Wessex Salon Culinaire is this year being held at Brockenhurst College in the New Forest on April 3rd and 4th and is an excellent platform for student chefs to put their culinary skills to the test and get a first taste of competition experience.
Over the two day competition, Broadland Farms will sponsor the Turkey class. Student chefs will have just 20 minutes to produce two portions of a dish using premium quality British thick cut turkey breast steaks as a key ingredient, supplied by Broadland Farms.
Broadland Farms Fresh Turkey is a new range of fresh quality British turkey cuts prepared by expert butchers.
From fresh turkey carvery crowns to thick cut turkey breast steaks, the fully traceable QBT and Assured Foods (Red Tractor) certified range offers chefs the opportunity to add their flair to create outstanding turkey dishes for use on menus all year round.
For the chef, fresh turkey brings the advantage of a shorter cooking time than frozen turkey. With turkey being ultra versatile and often cheaper to buy than other meats, but commanding the same price on menus, it’s the perfect ingredient. Turkey breast is also a great source of protein and naturally low in fat.
