Becky Longthorne has been appointed director of travel trade London for Bass

Hotels & Resorts. She will be based at the Hotel Inter-Continental London at Hyde Park Corner. She joins from the Forum Hotel London, Where She Worked In The Sales Department.

Ray Marks, owner of the Hotel Gleneagles and the Rutland hotel, both in Torquay, Devon, has purchased his third hotel, the 55-bedroom Bancourt hotel, also in Torquay.

Claire Davidson has joined Marshall Human Resources as recruitment administrator and trainee consultant. She has recently returned from travelling the world, and before that she worked at the Millennium Bailey's hotel in London as reception manager.

Anne Gray has been appointed financial controller at De Vere St David's Park hotel at Ewloe in Flintshire, near Chester. She joins from Rookery Hall hotel, Nantwich, Cheshire, where she was sanitary controller.

Alan Laycock and Jason Hursey, former head chef and bar manager respectively at the Bull and Butcher in Turville, Oxfordshire, have become proprietors of the Perch and Pike Inn in South Stock, Berkshire.

Daragh Murphy has been appointed general manager of the new Days Inn hotel at the Mailbox development in Birmingham, due to open in March. He comes from the Days Inn Waterloo, where he was assistant general manager.

Tarrin Constantine, group financial controller of hotel group Desilu, has been promoted. He is now also responsible for the finances of the group's sister company, Pillar Enterprises, in Cyprus. Desilu owns one hotel, five luxury apartments and seven office blocks in London. Pillar Enterprises owns a four-star hotel in Cyprus.

Steven Hind has been appointed senior operations manager at catering butcher Fairfax Meadow. He was managing director at the Consumer Supplies Trading Company.

Tailor-made-travel.com, the Scottish-based producer of travel guidebooks to the UK, has appointed Scottish travel expert Peter Irvine as a consultant. He is author of the guidebook Scotland the Best!

Reunions

The School of Hotel and Restaurant Management at Oxford Polytechnic, now Oxford Brookes University, is seeking ex-students to join its Bacchus Alumni Society. There are two events planned for the society - a networking evening on Monday 26 February and an evening in the Brookes restaurant on Friday 12 October.
