ETHNIC food is booming with 160 million Indian meals and 33 million Chinese meals sold last year.

To meet this demand, Maggi has launched The World of Tastes - a new paste sauce range that can be mixed straight into the pan to create a sauce.

The varieties are: Spicy Fajitas (Mexican style), 911; Red Cajun (New Orleans Style), 912; Hot Chilli (Thai style), 913; Jamaican Spice (Caribbean style), 914; Lemon and Ginger (Shanghai style), 915 and Tikka Masala (Indian style), 916.

Each of the pastes lasts 12 months and at 16p per portion yields between 20 to 35 portions, depending on usage.

The pastes can be used as a sauce base, flavour booster or as a pour on sauce by adding a teaspoon or using the whole jar.

They can also be used to enhance soups, rice and as a cook in sauce for meat and vegetables.
