The number of hotel and leisure insolvencies increased slightly last month, although the long-term trend remains positive. According to the latest Insolvency Index from Experian, 113 hotel and leisure businesses went under in September, compared with 105 in August.

Planning permission for a 452-bedroom hotel with a green "living roof" on the Greenwich Peninsula has been granted by officials in the London borough. The luxury hotel, which will have a ballroom, special events space, restaurant, meeting rooms and health spa, is being developed by 02 arena owner AEG.
