This year's semi-finalists for the Academy of Culinary Arts Annual Awards of Excellence have a nail-biting few days still to go before they learn whether they have won places in the final due to be staged at Thames Valley University in Ealing, west London, and London's Le Gavroche restaurant on 3 and 13 April, respectively.
